Every wardrobe must?
I have a few key wardrobe pieces that I find to be timeless and great closet staples to build your wardrobe around. These are the pieces that I find are worth investing in. Items like a black turtleneck, a trench coat, a great pair of jeans, a crisp white button up, and a little black dress will never go out of style and are foundation pieces that you can build countless looks around.
Your go to piece of the moment?
My body-con fur cuff Masabni dress of course!
Achingly elegant, it's also terribly flattering and quite comfy as well.
Any styling tricks you apply to all your looks?
I think one of the key components to creating a great look is finding the perfect fit for your body. Take the time to find a good tailor and invest in tailoring pieces that you love. If a garment fits perfectly, you and it, end up looking impeccable. A well-cut $50 dress can end up looking just as good as a $500 dress.
Your style inspiration / icon?
Hands down Grace Kelly, she's a fellow Philadelphia girl after all. I also draw a lot of inspiration from the way my grandmother, great-grandmother and great-aunts approached dressing. They were fearless in their choices and really paid attention to wearing beautiful high-quality fabrics.
Whose closet would you like to take over?
Any of my aforementioned style icons. However, I would love to be let free in Suzanne Rogers' and Sylvia Mantella's closets. These Toronto socialites are two of the strongest supporters of the Canadian fashion industry and the talents that make it up. They both also have a pretty epic collection of couture pieces from the likes of Giambatista Vali, Dolce and Gabbana, and Zac Posen. Both of their instagrams are basic fashion porn!
The city or district that best represents your style?
I grew up in Philadelphia and went to university in Washington DC before moving to Montreal. I've also been very fortunate to visit some amazing cities throughout the world. So, I like to think that my style is actually a reflection of all of those places.
Best spot to people watch (for trends or styles)?
Montreal is such a richly diverse city so basically anywhere you go here is going to be perfect for people watching and getting sartorial inspiration. Although, as a Westmount girl, I love the day-time diamonds and Birkins of Vic Park.
